this web site
This web site might appear plain in many respects. It is. We agree. It is planned that way. While many of the folks that use this web site have high speed internet connections that can support the (garbage) advertisements that appear on most web sites, we respect the fact that there are just as many folks who still use modems to access this web site. For those folks, simple is better. We're also told that more often than not, even the folks that do have the high speed connection are getting real tired of stuff they did not ask for to be popping up on their screens.
Many web sites do have advertisements. We do not - maybe we're stupid for not having them but the commercialization of the internet is not something that should be desired by anyone.
Many web sites say they don't collect information but they do. Unless our service provider is doing it without our knowledge, our pages do not collect or deposit cookies and do not collect personal or private information about you. As a matter of fact, we have found it nearly impossible to get any data from our service provider about how many page hits we have and/or where they come from. If you want us to have any of your personal information you have to send it to us with some degree of effort - nothing is done behind the scenes.
We do not pay special programmers or uber-geeks to do this web site. This is entirely a volunteer effort and the guy that does this has other things to do than to learn how to do flash programs for web sites and to link little nutty forms that just take up your time to complete. This is a plain jane, real deal web site.
