We're saddened to hear that an area musician has been hospitalized at the University of Michigan. Please send out a good thought for him and his family for a speedy recovery. We've been encouraged by recent reports of recovery gains so far, and hope this ordeal will soon be over for him.

On 13 April 2008 (Sunday nite) at 6pm the Silver Bullet, a benefit blues jam hosted was by Dave Allemang and the guys from Lazy Gator. A little over $1,000 was raised to help the family with expenses. Latest word (20 April) on Greg's condition: he continues to improve. No date has been given for discharge, but at least he has been freed of the IV pole he had to drag around.

It appears that plans are also afoot for a larger benefit for Greg and Kevin (see below). Stay tuned.

Kevin Brown

We're sorry to inform you that Kevin was unable to recover from his injuries. Please think of his family and friends at this time. Memorial services were help 20 April. An amazing number (over 16,000) of folks have signed the guest book at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kevinbrown

Bud Blues Series at the State Theatre

Although we always hate to see the end of the Budweiser Blues Series at our own State Theatre, we know the end of that brings along the excitement and anticipation for this year's blues festival in downtown Kalamazoo. Sean Costello April 16, 1979 - April 15, 2008

Blues Blast magazine from IllinoisBlues.com has just received word of the death of Blues guitarist Sean Costello. His booking agency Piedmont Talent and his record company Delta Groove Productions report that Sean died in an Atlanta hotel on April 15, 2008. http://www.ajc.com/services/content/metro/stories/2008/04/19/costello_0420.html
