Almost June – Blues Fest Planning Continues

Wow! It is almost June – Advance Sales of 3-day passes for the Kalamazoo Blues Festival start on June 1 on-line and at local resellers. Acts are finalized for the festival and volunteers are still needed for many festival areas. All current details for the festival are available here.

You have our sincere wish of a safe, sane, and blues-filled Memorial Day weekend.

Blues at the Muse

Out of Favor Boys Trio – will be KVBA’s special guest at this, the last, 3rd Sunday Blues Series at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum for this “season.” Come on down to this family friendly environment – bring “kith and kin”  and make it a party! Performance is scheduled to run from 1pm until 4pm this coming Sunday, May 16th. Hope to see you there.

Oh No!

We are saddened to hear that our good Blues Brother, Mr. Carl Weathersby, has been involved in an accident that prevents him from bringing his blues show to Kalamazoo’s 411 Club on Friday night. He is “scratched and dented” and we certainly wish him a speedy recovery. Turk is in contact with Carl’s agent and vows to pass along information for those of you might want to send best wishes – we’ll keep you posted.

Meanwhile, Crossroads – The Resurrection, will step up to the plate on Friday at The 411 Club. Come on out and support live music wherever it may be.

Send a good thought out to Carl!

Local Blues Power

Local bands will be featured this Tuesday on “Blues Power” with Mike Irelan. Airing Tuesdays from 8 till 10 pm on WIDR 89.1 FM & WIDR.org, “Blues Power” is one of the oldest blues shows in the Kalamazoo area and the only one where you can hear acoustic and electric blues from the 1920’s to today.
