33rd Street Band is a 7-piece horn band with a huge sound that has been performing blues, soul, motown, and classic rock since 2003. They are based in Kalamazoo. Big Trouble is a five piece band that specializes in, “up on your feet”, Classic Blues, R&B, Rock & Soul and originals. The Blues Shed sound is informed by keyboardist Michael Mestelle’s encyclopedic knowledge of the blues, driven by Nathan Moore’s energizing, uplifting vocals, and grounded by the rhythmic foundation of drummer Cara LaLumia and bass player Mike Walter. Then Tim Conway and Joe Ehlert and put the exclamation mark on the sentence with scratchy blues guitar and melodic warbling sax.

Tom Duffield and Lorraine Caron have been stirrin’ up the blues in Kalamazoo at the Kalamazoo Blues Festival, the KVBA acoustic shows at the museum, and also most recently they have running gigs at The Old Dog Tavern, The Strutt and Koffee Klutch. Their latest CD is aptly named Coffee Blues.
